Insert this spot elevation as a symbol and you will get the target, the line and 2 labels. The label above the line gives you an elevation in foot-inches. The label below the line gives you an elevation in engineer standards - 100.33' (example) This works great on site plans, when you have to give the real site dimension compared to the architectural dimension you chose. |

It is a Line based detail component rather than a symbol. I made it this way so the overall length would stay the same if the scale changed. The text will change with the view scale and in the instance properties there is an input for a scale to change the arrow and circle sizes. (I preprogramed the typical scales so you can see how they work) There are 3 types of arrow heads and the text can be controlled separately.
Edit* the scale things does not work atm I will tryand fix it later.
Hope it helps,

This is a family I created to for creating a dimension string that consists only of text. It is a line based detail component (2 pick family) so placement is simple and the the text value is an instance parameter. You could potentially add a family type parameter to allow you the ability to swap out the arrow head types also. |

A title sheet with add ons, parameter driven. Scale bar is metric 50, 100, 200, 250, 500, 1000 scales. North arrow has project and true north indicators and rotates 90 degrees. Zone map is a manual load you would edit for your project. Needs a bit of smarts to go back into the arrow, and zone map families to customise for your site. http://www.vtourinteractive.com/blog |

This View Title should be a modified Revit standard: ())> Drawing Number is 1/4" tall w/ enlarged circle (versus the Revit standard 1/8") ())> View Title is 1/4" tall (versus the Revit standard 1/8") ())> Scale readout is 1/8"tall (stayed the same as the Revit standard) If you need other fonts, just edit the family. If you need other lineweights edit the family and/or Visual Graphics in your project if you wish. HOW I WOULD INSTALL (follow at your own risk): - Download
- Open in Revit Famliy Editor
- Inspect and/or modify
- (with a project up and running)Upload into project
- Go to the Element Properties dialog window of a Viewport (ie right-click the viewport)
- Select "Edit Type..."
- Select and pull down the menu under Title Type Parameter Value
- Select the custom View Title and "Okay" your way out of the screens

Here are two Viewports:
1. Viewport Std. - with following Type Parameters:
a. Title – View Title.
b. Show Title – Yes.
c. Show Extension Line – Box checked.
2. Viewport W/ Box - with following Type Parameters:
a. Title – View Title- Detail Box.
b. Show Title – Yes.
c. Show Extension Line – Box not checked.
Place Detail Boxes: using place a drafting view as the example.
1. Load the View Title-Detail Box and Detail Box into a project.
2. Create a drafting view “DOOR FRAME” for example and drag onto a sheet.
3. Click that detail, in the Properties window, click the down arrow on the right, two Viewport types will be shown. Click “Viewport W/ Box”. Double click the detail to activate that View, on the bottom of the option bar selecting the proper scale.
4. Now placing the Detail Box, in the Project Browser, under “Family”/ “Annotation Symbols”, click “Detail Box” and expand the family types, select 3x3 for example, drag and place it to the right location on the sheet using the grid marks on the border or the invisible grids on the sheet, then drag the “DOOR FRAME” detail into the detail box, then drag the detail title to the correct location.
5. If the detail box type for example 8x10 is not on the list, you can select any type such as 3x3, click it then in “Type Properties” using “Duplicate” to create the new type “8 X 10”, then in the “Type Parameter”, “Other”, in the Row X, click 3, then an up/down arrow will be shown on the right, using it to change to 8, then do the same for the Y, now you have the Type 8 X 10.
Sorry, haven't upload for a while. The site said that I can upload 10 files maximum, I had upload only two of three, the image file and the empty box family, and don't know why the View Title didn't upload.I tried again and no avail. I have to create another new upload for the View Title. |
