This was built as a Mass. Preferrably it would be a Generic Component placed under Decorative Metal. Objects that have a material which can be quanitified are by definition not a Mass. The long term usefulness of Revit is dependent on this aspect distinguishing Mass from Component.

Good object, but renders in boring generic grey and you cant change it. Please fix then will be useable.

Not wall mounted. Rather workset... Also it wants to mount from the bottom. Do not waste your time with this.

This worked fine for me, just had to create some material parameters in the family and the nested family. It would be nice if there was a width parameter rather than that being set by type, but my project only has two widths so I just made a duplicate family and renamed them by width.
