This is a family I created to for creating a dimension string that consists only of text. It is a line based detail component (2 pick family) so placement is simple and the the text value is an instance parameter. You could potentially add a family type parameter to allow you the ability to swap out the arrow head types also.

I’ve been thinking about how the simple things, like a text-only dimension string, can really make a difference in some projects.
