I have this attached to a ceiling and cant for the life of me get it to show the annotation in plan view for my life safety plan. The annotation and object both show fine in the cielign plan.
Some one help please I am burning so much time... I coudl just draw a hand plan faster than this LOL

The annotation will only show up in plan view if the fixture is being cut. Edit the family and draw an invisible line from the top of the fixture down to the reference level. Now the fixture is being cut in your plan view and the annotation will show up.
This works for all light fixtures that you want to show up in a plan view.
