Here are two Viewports:
1. Viewport Std. - with following Type Parameters:
a. Title – View Title.
b. Show Title – Yes.
c. Show Extension Line – Box checked.
2. Viewport W/ Box - with following Type Parameters:
a. Title – View Title- Detail Box.
b. Show Title – Yes.
c. Show Extension Line – Box not checked.
Place Detail Boxes: using place a drafting view as the example.
1. Load the View Title-Detail Box and Detail Box into a project.
2. Create a drafting view “DOOR FRAME” for example and drag onto a sheet.
3. Click that detail, in the Properties window, click the down arrow on the right, two Viewport types will be shown. Click “Viewport W/ Box”. Double click the detail to activate that View, on the bottom of the option bar selecting the proper scale.
4. Now placing the Detail Box, in the Project Browser, under “Family”/ “Annotation Symbols”, click “Detail Box” and expand the family types, select 3x3 for example, drag and place it to the right location on the sheet using the grid marks on the border or the invisible grids on the sheet, then drag the “DOOR FRAME” detail into the detail box, then drag the detail title to the correct location.
5. If the detail box type for example 8x10 is not on the list, you can select any type such as 3x3, click it then in “Type Properties” using “Duplicate” to create the new type “8 X 10”, then in the “Type Parameter”, “Other”, in the Row X, click 3, then an up/down arrow will be shown on the right, using it to change to 8, then do the same for the Y, now you have the Type 8 X 10.
Sorry, haven't upload for a while. The site said that I can upload 10 files maximum, I had upload only two of three, the image file and the empty box family, and don't know why the View Title didn't upload.I tried again and no avail. I have to create another new upload for the View Title. |

Here is a parametric door family in CMU wall with customized door schedule to match our office one. This one can show unequal leafs, different swing angles, lites, glass type on schedule; frame depth and frame setback are all parametric.1. The leaf sizes is "Type" dependant, a pair of 3'-0"/2'-0" x 7'-0", will be shown PR. 3'-0"/2'-0"x7'-0" on schedule. -if you need a pair of 3'-0"/1'-4" x 7'-0" door, you can duplicate 3'-0"/2'-0" x 7'-0", go to "Element Property" cahnge the "Width2" to 1'-4" and rename it accordingly, it will show on schedule.2. The swing angle is an "instance", you can click the door #11, go to "Element Property" change "Swing angle" to 50, it will be changed on plan.3. The lite in active panel has three configurations, and a flush one. -go to door schedule view, under "Door Type" not "(2) DOOR TYPE", for Door # 12, if you change the number to 3, then go to 3D view, you can see the lite changed.4. Type of glass is an "instance", you can un-check the box "Exterior Door" on Door Schedule, the "(5)GLASS" will be changed from SGI to SG. SGI- safety glass insulated, SG-safety glass.5. Frame depth and setback (for masonry wall) are all "Family dependant", since I think that each project should have the same setback, if you want, you can modify it and make it a "Type" or "Instance" parameter. Then you can go to Sheet A101 to see the print format of the door schedule.

This is the finished Facility Occupancy Load Schedule and Egress Plan. This is automated to calculate the occupant load based on the type of area then use that to calculate occupant load.
There are 2 tags. 1 for rooms, 1 for egress doors.
There are 4 schedules
1. DOOR EGRESS SCHEDULE
2. FACILITY OCCUPANCY SCHEDULE
3. ROOM OCCUPANCY COMPARE SCHEDULE
4. SPACE OCCUPANCY CLASSIFICATION
There is one sample Model.
Steps:
1. Copy the schedules and tags to your current project.
2. Open the Room occupancy compare schedule
3. Select what type of area you see fit.
4. Type in 0 sf for “NON CALCULATED ROOM AREA” to calculate occupants
5. Manually type in tag value to match calculation to populate the room tag.
6. Place the facility schedule on the code plan sheet.
7. Place the Door egress schedule on the sheet too.
8. Place all your room tags
9. Place your egress door tags on 1 exit way door only per egress area
10. Make a note of how you want to number your egress areas. ( I usually go clockwise from upper left to lower right)
11. Fill in the Egress area for each room in the properties field. ( You can multiple select rooms at the same time and type in the value for all at once, use your filter)
12. The Facility Schedule will populate.
13. Type in the Occupant value to the Door egress schedule. Make sure they match. Hide Door egress schedule.
You’re done. Or pretty close J #JustinDesigns3D JustinDesigns3D@Gmail.com |
