These Indian style door windows are created as per actual elements in use.
Banarasi Door & Windows
1 Wooden frames are created from wood log section per design of CPWD India. the design prevents plaster damage around door window frames when face flushed with wall face. Insert in frame may be removed by using insert=0. A chanel is made all aroun middle of frame to hold a perforated 6mm dia pipe to inject pest control liquidin it periodically, to protect door frame from termite etc.
2 Multiple door leaf shutters can be swipe to make a new door. Multy lite shutter can be utilise for one fully glazed panel to multy lite, simply by adjusting the vertical & horizontal numbers.
3 window frames are made from same log sections.Sunshed, Side fins & Sill proj set to zero if not req. Any of them can be set independently.There is provision for Frame extension and rebate can be made on both side if req.Safty grills have been provided in each opening & it adjust according to frame dimensions. M.S.Sq bar & M.S.Flat size can be set manually for grills.
4. window shutters are multy lite shutters & number of lites can be set. Mullions in Ventilator & Lowlite can be visible or not. Ht of ventilator & low lite can be set to zero if not req.
5. windows are marked by hor bay numbers, like 1A,1B, 2A, 3A etc.
6.All shutters are provided with 2D & 3D swing. Door shutters are inswing while window shutters are out swing as used in Indian culture.
7. use families after studdying the parameters. Window width is restricted as per actual use.It is better to handle the family after loading in project.

Here is a parametric door family in CMU wall with customized door schedule to match our office one.This one can show unequal leafs, different swing angles, lites, glass type on schedule; frame depth and frame setback are all parametric.1. The leaf sizes is "Type" dependant, a pair of 3'-0"/2'-0" x 7'-0", will be shown PR. 3'-0"/2'-0"x7'-0" on schedule. -if you need a pair of 3'-0"/1'-4" x 7'-0" door, you can duplicate 3'-0"/2'-0" x 7'-0", go to "Element Property" cahnge the "Width2" to 1'-4" and rename it accordingly, it will show on schedule.2. The swing angle is an "instance", you can click the door #11, go to "Element Property" change "Swing angle" to 50, it will be changed on plan.3. The lite in active panel has three configurations, and a flush one. -go to door schedule view, under "Door Type" not "(2) DOOR TYPE", for Door # 12, if you change the number to 3, then go to 3D view, you can see the lite changed.4. Type of glass is an "instance", you can un-check the box "Exterior Door" on Door Schedule, the "(5)GLASS" will be changed from SGI to SG. SGI- safety glass insulated, SG-safety glass.5. This is a fully Parametric Door family I have been working on it for awhile. It has the ability to be solid, half-glass, full glass, and a cased opening. You can control all of this by checking the on/off boxes in the type properties. It has the option for no tim, trim on one side or both sides. Door swing projection is also optional. Make sure that glass width and height have a value even if you are using the solid flush option otherwise family will not work. Enjoy! |

McKeon top coiling fire door with egress pocket door. The egress door is located in a pocket in the wall and when the system activates, it swings into position and the coiling door drops from above. This family includes all elements as well as a 'closed' and 'open' position. It is hosted on a face of a wall, more specifically the back of the pocket where the egress door is in. Ceiling height and width are instance controlled parameters allowing you to set them specifically for each import. It includes 2d linework details (copies from McKeon) for both side tracks in plan view and then the coiling mechanism above the ceiling in elevation and section views. |

This may seem like a pretty simple family at first, but it's very complex actually. I took the standard flush door shipped with Revit and added symbolic lines representing the ADA clearances. But I didn't stop there, It allows you to check (by instance) the side of approach on both push and pull sides and automatically resizes the clearances. I'm looking for feedback and any bugs you find. |
