This is a closet unit with a central shelving system and rods on both sides, similar to the starter kit that ClosetMaid offers.
The central shelves are 17" total in width.
The shelves and rods on the sides are parametric.
You can adjust the length of the shelves, and if they are visible or not.
You can also decide if the 2 drawers on the unit are visible or not. |

Hi, I have been modelling a couple of objects that I thought I could share with the rest of you.
The shelves have a visibility parameter, so you can turn them on and off.
I drew it in revit 2021, I can export it into an odler version, but I don't have much faith in my skills to do it properly and keep it's materials.

This American Woodmark model is their single oven, 96" high, 4 butt doors with 2 shelves cabinet. American Woodmark offers this cabinet in three widths: 27", 30", and 33" and those are the three family types. All doors operate independently. The oven width for each cabinet size is preset to the published size, but I've exposed the oven opening parameters as instance parameters if you want to cut a custom opening.
The best practice for operating the doors is to open and close them in angular increments of something less than 90° in a single operation. For example, if you want to open them to 90°, you could open them initially to 50° and then go to 90°. Close them the same way. |

Afternoon guys.
Heres a quick wall shelf i've done based on the following link
http://st.hzcdn.com/simgs/6c71220d0d922d4b_4-1578/modern-display-and-wall-shelves.jpg
This family is face based. I couldnt get the actual size so i've given the family width and height parameters. You'll see in the rendered image multiple shelves, there is one shelf within the family but i've given it a instant parameter for the materials and set up 5 different colours, Yellow, white, black, Red and purple.
Simple load in the family and then copy it around and change to what colour you want, this way you can custom the pattern you create.
Enjoy |

I'm a newbie to revit and here's a drop of water to the ocean of models here. It's a non-parametric model since I have not learned yet how to make it smarter. Image reference from houzz designs. |

These library shelves have significant improvements over the first version I uploaded several years ago.
This new shelf scales seamlessly from 1.5 to 7+ feet, meaning new families are not needed for short or tall stacks.
As the overall height of the shelving grows or shrinks, the shelves not only space themselves evenly, but the shelf count now increases of decreases. (from 0 to 4 intermediate shelves.) Once again, the only parameter input needed from you is Height and the rest happens automatically.
Previous versions would squish the books into the shelf above it, and books would start overlapping at around 4 feet.
Books visible in "fine" detail level only.
I'm open to suggestions. Possibilities:
A reporting parameter "volumes" (books per feet value) can help determine if you're meeting a library's requirements, and a "FORCE SHELF" field might also make sense if someone wants to add or remove a shelf at a particular height. |

Parametric. You can change the number of shelves and the height of the bottom and top shelf. You can also change how far apart the two wall supports are and how far down they extend. you cannot change the width or depth. The array will glitch.
REVIT 2016 (not 2015)
Note: the elevation constraint measures to the bottom of the supports, not the shelf. Make sure the two elevation constraints are the same.
Hey, I'm really sorry but I forgot to align the top shelf with the top reference plane. Open the family in "back side" view, push AL (or the align button.) click on the top reference plane, then click on the top of the top shelf. That will fix it. |
