Thrid Floor - Hermosa Beach house

Description:

Clifford O. Reid, Architect

A good design always starts off with a good plan. I design from the inside out.

In this house I am proposing all electrical light and electrical outlets, except for the kitchen refrigerator and the HVAC units, will be run off a bank of litiumun batteries. The batteries will power the house from 6 am to 9 am and 5 pm to 11 pm. The batteries will be in the charge mode from 9 am to 5 pm and 11 pm to 6 am. The utility power will kick in to charge the batteries and to power the HVAC units and the kitchen refrigerator.  There will also be solar panels on the roof that will provide the hot water and additional charging of the house batteries.

In this house most of the glass facies south, but is screened by the wall that creates the south elevation.  The house is a total of 4000 SF.

This is a Green project.
