out of curiosity, how much would house like this cost to buy in that area(I assume it is south California)? Just want to compare with beachfront house here in QLD, Australia.

The area where this house is proposed, Hermosa Beach, CA on the Strands, property goes for $2 to $5 million for a 50 x 150 lot. The house would cost any where from $300 to $600K to build. The Strands is a popular walking, biking and volleyball area. It runs for 24 miles of sidewalk with primarly residentilal beach homes along the way. This will be a great attractionalong that path.
