Description: Just wanted to illustrate the drastic differance the Mental Ray engine is. These are the exact same seens rendered with the same settings. The one to the left was done in Revit 2009 (mental ray) and to the right was done using the incredibly inferior Accurender in Revit 2008.

What a great job Autodesk made integrating MentalRay in Revit. The workflow is still pretty mutch the same, but with mia/shader materials insted. Check out http://www.mentalimages.com/4_1_motion_pictures/index.html and take a look at some motion-picture renderers..... Everytime I get the "hate my software" feeling I try to look at some real pros work. All software incl many freeware 3d/render engines has the power to achive superb result. And a great render-setup will never look great, when the design itself is bad. Great design looks great regardless if it´s Mentalray or lightscape etc.... Anyway. Now I have this great tools, the rest is up to me. Hmm. BTW great indirect light..... Ciao
