Description: This is a very small Corner Lot @ 105 sq. m. The challenge on my part is to make the design look bigger and maximize the floor area in accordance with the existing building code, which require setbacks that made my ground floor plan very tight. Since it’s my parent’s lot, I allocated the ground floor for them and the 1st floor for my family whenever we planned for vacation in the Philippines. I maximized the openings on the façade since it was oriented North East, facing away from the hot afternoon sun but accommodating the cool prevailing winds that will ventilate the building interior. The roof deck has a magnificent view of the world’s perfect cone Mayon volcano with the domestic airport and the Albay gulf within its landscape. The turret like structure was requested by my wife because she got an idea from a certain movie that has a small round living room with the sofas fitted against the circular wall and windows.
