(darkirender)...install SU to your pc and then download a tree from google sketchup, after you download you have to open the files and please change the size, and export to DWG files...then open your revit family, import your DWG files to your family, after that change the color, and save...hope it helps...

I FORGOT TO ASK MARKIE INTO WHAT FAMILY TEMPALTE I SHOUD IMPORT THE DWG FILE FROM SKETCHUP. I TRIED ENTOURAGE, GENERIC MODEL, AND PLANTING TEMPLATES, CHANGED THE MATERIALS ON THE "OBJECT STYLE SETTINGS CORRESPONDING TO EACH LAYER ON THE IMPORTED FILE, SAVED IT, LOADED IN A PROJECT, RENDERED BUT ALL I SEE IS A GREY COLORED IMAGE. THE MATERIAL ASIGNED DOESNT SHOW UP! WHAT WORKS FOR ME SO FAR IS JUST THE CONCEPTUAL MASS TEMPLATE . AFTER LOADING IT TO A PROJECT I CAN APLY THE MATERIALS I WANT TO EACH SURFACE TO CHANGE THE APPEARANCE BECAUSE CHANGING THE MATERIAL ON THE OBJECT STYLES LAYERS DOESNT WORK AS WELL FOR ME. BUT THIS IS A BUNCH OF WORK BECAUSE FOR A TREE IT HAS MANY LEAVES SURFACES WHERE ILL APLY THE MATERIAL ONE BY ONE. I WENT THROUGH THE THREAD BUT THE ONLY FAMILY THAT WORKS SO FAR FOR ME IS THE CONCEPTUAL MASS. BUT IT TAKES TYM BECAUSE, AS I HAVE SAID, I HAVE TO PAINT EACH SURFACEC WITH A MATERIAL, AND NOT ASSIGNING MATERIAL TO THE LAYER BECAUSE IT WONT WORK. OR MAYBE I MISSED SOMETHING WHEN I ASSIGNED MATERIALS ON THE OBJECT STYLE SETTINGS. ANY ADVICE??? HOPE TO HERE FROM YOU.
