Can I link my text somehow to a specific detail? Revit tracks detail cuts from where you cut it to where you finally put the detail. I often reference other details in my annotations and want to know if somehow I can tap into that tracking. For example an annotation might say "steel beam, see detail 4/s4.0". If you move this detail, you have to make sure you change the annotation. Can you insert something that would track the detail for you? Maybe I am reaching a little on this

Hi, Tags or Keynotes, will achive the results you seek, and are quite easy to use. Have a look in the F1 help for details.

i'm searching for the answer to a very similar situation. i have drafting view details that are similar and would like to reference them back to one drafting view detail that would have the majority of the noting on it. in the past (acad) i would just write (for example): NOTE: SEE 15/S0.1 UON. i don't see how tagging or keynoting helps with this as i don't really have an object to pick. any suggestions?? thanks in advance, missgayley

Use a callout and reference other view. It will come up with a SIM tag by default. We just ended up deleting that from the system family (its all or nothing) and adding it where needed. Nick

Been trying to figure that out myself. So far we just draw a little tiny box (end up looking like a dot) and deal with the leader. We use to put the callout in the midst of text, but now I treat it more like a keynote. Nick

lol... thanks ~ that's what i'd done too after attempting "invisible line" (it doesn't want to pick them) and "masking" (but that would be a pain)

hooray!! i've figured out a different work-around to give me the look i'm after. i've created a new call out head that is solely labels with a slash of text. using it in the drawing with the corner radius set at 0" allows the leader & circle to be buried easily in the thickness of the font. (does that make sense at all??) i'll add a picture... the red is just a regular text note, the blue is the callout. i've also attached my callout family file hope this helps! missgayley
