If your PDF Writer 4.2 suddenly stop working, check that you are not running any NVIDIA driver above 162.XX. It is a very weird issue but right after installing any version above 162, including the latest stable version 169.21, the Revit PDF printers stop working. I had also downloaded the demo version from Pinebush and it also broke. Uninstalling the driver and installing the older 158.22 fixes the PDF printers. I have notified both NVIDIA and pinebush, but hope that this post will help all of you that are suffering not knowing what the hell broke your PDF writer. Good luck!
