Hi, I have been trying to load detail groups created in Revit Building 8.1 into Revit Architecture 2008 but it is not working. It starts the load nad shows the message "this is a one time upgrade..." but then a message saying "failed to open document" comes up. I have had no problem loading 8.1 families into 2008. does anyone know what may be causing this and how to get around it? Cheers.

I had the same problem trying to open 8.1 file ing 2008. Found out from a friend who had the same problem that if you turn your computer clock back to 2007 it opened the files without a problem. Then saved to 2008 and turn the clock back.

This could be the Y2K8 issue. Check your version of revit by going to the help menu, about and in the upper right corner it shows the build version, The newest build is 20080101_2345 and can be downloaded from here: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=9408083

I was having the same problem with older projects. The clock thing worked too.
