I am experiencing frustrations with component visibility. Seems most standard components have plan visibility off and rely on symbolic lines to represent the casework, furniture, equipment etc. All well and good until you put down a floor with a surface pattern and then all components have pattern running through. Does anybody know and easy way to fix this without editing every individual component to show plan visibility and then reloading all back into my project... Maybe I should gripe to autodesk. Seems like using symbolic lines in creating components is just the default process and not much thought is being given to the reality of what if will look like in a real project.

I found that a little irritating also when creating marketing plans... i don't believe symbolic lines show ever be used to represent a family in plan on their own... you should use either a detail component that contains a filled region to block the unwanted section of floor surface pattern. Or if the model isn't overly complicated just have the 3D objects visible in plan? Sometimes i think the revit content is created very quickly as an after thought... That's if i didn't know different.
