Sounds like something went wrong with your install. I'm using Revit 2008 on Vista Ultimate x64 and in load family mode the thumbnails show fine. They don't display in windows explorer however...

I don;t thinik this is it, but.... you can try opening windows explorer, go into whichever folder the folders are in (your c: drive, for example) and then click organize, choose folder and search options, go to the view tab and make sure that the option for "always show icon, never thumbnail" is not checked.

If thumbnails of projects etc do not appaer when browsing but only a big R-icon shows, you could try the following Run the command window in the Administrator mode (under Windows Start type "cmd", right-click on the result and choose "Run as Administrator" .In the command line then type:regsvr32 "c:\program files\revit architecture 2009\program\revitpreview.dll"A message confirming a successfull registration of the DLL module should appear for us this seems to help in most cases, any feedback is welcome David
