When there are design options in the model, there is an "exclude options" box that is always checked by default. is there a way to disable this? i find myself unchecking the "exclude options" box about a million times a day. one of the options was just made the "primary" but it is still treated like an option. i am using revit architecture 2008. thanks!

I don't think there is a way to change the default behaviour of the "exclude options" check box. When you identify an option as "primary" it is still an option. If you want it to no longer behave like an option you have to "accept" the primary option which will delete all you secondary options in that group and merge the primary back into the model. If you don't want to lose the secondary options but still want to accept the primary, first make a group out of each of the secondary options. Groups will be maintained even after accepting primary. You can even save the groups to a file if you like. Hope this helps. Troy - myCADD

If you are a finding you need to have exclude options unchecked then you probably should be working in that particular design option. In which case you dont have to worry about that box... I hope Troy has just identified something I wasn't aware of, because I don't believe there is such a tool that he proposes that enables you to "accept" the primary option and "automatically" merge it back into the model. The only way I knew of doing this was to copy and paste out of the design option... You can certainly delete unused design options, but if you delete the primary option it doesn't automatically merge, all of its contents get deleted... It probably should work the way Troy states... HTH.
