How is the easiest way to create a window family with an angled brick sill. I created one with an extrusion but i dont know how to make the sloped opening in the brick part of the wall.

That is what I'm trying to create. How do you make the opening?

i think i have it sorted. open window family for editing, turn on wall in view props. cut a section through the window. hilight cut opening(click on wall, tab till cut opening is displayed), click on edit and alter to suit required sill position ( eg 172 mm below frame) and save. u need to fill in behind with a solid extrusion to say the inner leaf thickness(for b/v) which allows space for your solid extruded sill bricks. i tried it on another window family which had a cut extrusion rather than a cut opening around the window frame. the cut extrusion was easier to edit . ( didnt need to fill in behind.) in both cases the section was handy. cheers geoffm

I am trying to do the same thing. I have a brick wall (thin brick - "stick on" 1/2" thick actually) with a slopd brick sill under the window. When I use a wall sweep with the sill profile I created, it cuts the wall only where the face of the sill intersects the wall. I then have a piece of the wall reamianing from the top of the sill to the bottom of the window. I would think that there would be a way to increase the size of the cut above the sweep. I have tried to modify the opening and add an additonal opening. That works, but I have a huge hole under the window on the interior side of the wall. I tried to use a void as in the example above, but cannot get the proper angle set. (I want to still use a sweep for the sill seperate from the window). This is a basic construction method, you would think Revit shoiuld be abole to handle it. Any ideas?? Thanks.
