Hello All, I am new to the forums and have a question on RAC 2008.We are working on an interior project and have the room and door schedules all completed in REVIT, but I was wondering how do you do the Finish Legend; (PNT-01= Benjamin Moore Cool Blue #123, Satin finish, Gypusm Finish Level 4) that sort of thing This would cover floors, walls, base, ceilings, and anything else I can think of. I was hoping there was some way to create this list and then select from my room schedule pulldowns (so only floor materials could be selected). Can REVIT do this or do I need to complete this offline in some other program ? Thanks,Greg

You can add the finish field to your room or door schedule. Once you have entered the data you have shown, it will show up in the pull down for other rooms.

Thanks for the info. But I was not clear enough in my post. I know whatever I type into the Schedule will show up in the pickbox, but that is not what I trying to do. We usually create a stand alone Finish Schedule and then create the Room Schedule. So I am trying to find a way to create the Legend first. I just found a simliar thread about this and the suggestion was to just create a drafting view with text and lines, maybe that is the best I can do. Thanks,Greg

? ? ? Still don't understand what you are saying. Do you want columns for your finishes with X boxes? If so, you can do that using a yes/no variable for each column.

gregs, If i understand the question you want to build a legend of all your finishes before you fill them out in the schedule. If so this is going to be difficult. Keep in mind that the schedule is getting its information directly from the model. Unless you have already defined the Materials and finishes in your objects, the schedule won't show any information. If you if you are just wanting a seperate finish legend for the project you can create a Multi-category Material Takeoff. This will list all materials used in the project. Once again this will only show the materials that are assigned to the objects in the model. I hope I haven't rambled to much here. Let us know if you figure it out.

I have found the answer to this. We were having a similar problem. If you still need to know how to create this Material Schedule...NOT A ROOM SCHEDULE. Let me know and I will send the instructions. It involves creating a family and a Note Block, it is something that works just like a schedule. it is a bit lentghty but very easy to folow. Once the family is creating with all it's parameters it's as smooth as butter from there on out to create these schedules in future projects.

I need help with this! I have created a room schedule that notes all the finishes in the individual rooms. I now need to create a material schedule that identifies the type of paint, floor, etc selections.

We use a room schedule key for this with custom PROJECT shared parameters...type in what you want, add the key to the schedule and tell it what to be.

If you are still on here, I would like the instructions.
