i have found if you have 'lines' that need to be horizontal or vertical, then you'll need two materials with those options, but and this is the weird bit, if you have any other need for angled lines, you can use the align tool to orientate the lines to anything that is not vertical or horizontal. a bit like the way you can align any surface pattern with anything. try the align tool and see what happens - it is probably the most useful tool in revit!

The tie into AccuRENDER seems to be a little weak in regards to how you manage 3d bitmaps. 15 years ago when I used AccuRENDER with AutoCAD, I remember that I could set the direction of the bitmap for each surface but I'm not sure how you do that now. For shaded with edges, you should be using model category fill patterns that you can adjustthe orientation of. For the rendered items, you will have to create a material for each orientation. You can then edit the bitmap of the material and rotate it to suit your needs. The process seems to be more complicated then I remember it.

autodesk hasent done its homework, this way isnt very viable when you have your boss leaning over your shoulder and asking you to quickly rotate a tecture in acordance with your acad plans.... well, will work at it thanks anyway, i thought there should be an easy way to do this.
