I am trying to add a location parameter to my walls, so i can identify what elevation they occur on, into in a schedual and sort by that parameter and identify what percentage of a material occurs on that elevation (its one of our clients design criteria to have x% of brick on the facad). At first, the parameter worked great, i could write in Nort, south, east or west and sort that way in a material take off. However, when i got to the walls that are part of stacked walls, it all whent down hill. Apperantly, you can not add Instance parameters to walls that occur in a stacked wall; the parameter i added was present whent i viewed element proporties, but i could not modify the value. So my question is; how can i add a parameter to my stacked walls so i can define them as being located on the north facad? Thank you.

I have had a few questions about stacked walls and got several replies back that they end up causing more problems than they are worth. That said I used them anyways until monday when one of my stacked walls decided that it was no longer room bounding. AFter messing with the wall for a little while I just gave up and built 2 seperate walls and joined them in elevation. I had a few other issues that I was mostly able to work around, but after the wall deciding that it didnt want to bound a room anymore (the box for room bounding is gone on stacked walls) I ended up replacing all my stacked walls with single walls. Just a thought. HTH Nick

The option to blow up all the stacked wall has crossed my mind (it is a wonderful visual right now too) however we decided that our stacked walls are complicated enough and sice we are still in design development, that it would be more of a hassel to work with exploded stack walls. Thanks for the thought though.
