I am fairly new and am having trouble w/ a door and frame family. I have a good door and HM frame family that lets me change the frame face dimension but it changes the jams and the head. I need a door & frame that has a 4" head and 2" jambs. The family uses a sweep for the head and jambs and I haven't been able to figure out how to make the head 4". Anyone out there have a door and frame family like this???

You could modify the family in several ways. One would be to add a seperate sweep at the head thats adds the extra 2 inches. .... good learning experience.

WWHub's idea is better than mine, so I'll just add that if you do the extra 2" as a sweep be sure you Join Geometry of the two sweeps to eliminate the extra line at the seam.

I cheated a little and just created a solid extrusion for the additional 2" at the head and it works great. I did the join geometry and no lines. Thanks for the idea.

Here is my family that does that. I just created the extrusion in elevation so it could have diff. sizes for head and jamb.
