I have been working on a project tempalte and unbeknownst to me, our lead designer has been using a blank template and i need to copy all of the project standards i set up. It works fine for sheets, schedules, families, & line types. How to you get legends copied over from project to project. The specific problem relates to our symbols legend on the cover sheet - this is the same for all projects in the office. I would hate to do this 3 times. Help!! Thanks. RAC 2008

I think you can open both projects and the legend view then copy to - from clipboard. Wish it was easier.

OK, I FIGURED OUT ONE SOLUTION!!!!! Take the completed Legend. Make it a Group and call it the name of the Legend. Go to the Group section in the Project Browser, highlight the Group and Copy to Clipboard. Now in the project without the Legends, Paste from Clipboard. You still have to create the Legend view, set the scale, the View Properties and paste the group into the Legend view. This is only a bandaid until Autodesk fixes it or someone smarter than I can figure a better way. ...Carl

It hink WWHub's copy-paste works. You do have to have a New Legend View open in the project file you are copying into. Highlight everything in the old legend and copy to clipboard and paste into your new legend. The scale needs to be the same in the new as the old. It's basically what you settled on...except that I think the grouping is unnecessary.

Thanks Bauhaus1919, That did work too. Too bad my project uses 17 different legends.

All good for copy paste but cant seem to get ref planes to copy between. It places them in the project environment separately.
