i am using revit arch2008 and i am having some confusion with tags, symbols and annotations.  when i load my tags into my project and use either keynoting, tag or symbol, the recently loaded tags dont show up. i have checked under settings-annotations-loaded tags and they dont show up there either.  this is causing an issue with wall section tags, detail key notes and note blocks are not working either.

i am frustrated at this and this is one of the final steps i need to complete before i turn this project over for review-  if someone is willing to "talk" to me about this issue, please respond. i can be more specific about what is going on, but i didnt want to write a novel in the forum..at least not yet Smile

ideas?

thanks!

Are these tags that you made?  When you made them, did you open a generic annotation family, or a generic tag family?  And do they not show up in the Loaded Annotations window at all (as in are all of your options grey) or are they possibly loaded but not the default tags (if you have any loaded at all, they'll be black, if you have more than one option loaded, you'll be able to select the first and then get a little pull down to see the rest.)

And writing novels here is never a problem, the more specific you can be, the more likely you are that someone else will know what you're talking about and possibly have a good answer for you.

the tags and info i am loading is from revit architecture 2008 out of the box-  i am thinking that there is confusion on my part which tag type goes with which command ( element, material, user-etc.) so when i am trying to tag wall sections and details nothing is working- the component pulldown consistently does not list the tags i am trying to load- i am goin gto try to run through the tutorials again (third time) and see if i can fish out an answer. i hate the fact that the tutorial make a lot of assumptions, so sometimes you cant find the answer you are looking for- i will post back again shortly

If you're trying to tag something like a door or window, try going into the view, under the Drafting tab (or on the left side, the grey tabs) go to Tag All Not Tagged and see if any of your tags are there.  Click door tabs and just see what happens.

best of luck with the tutorials, sometimes information is not exactly where you think it should be.

ok!!! I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO LOAD SOME OF THE TAGS, BUT I AM STILL HAVING TROUBLE WITH ANNOTATION TAGS SHOWING UP AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN LOADED.  IS THERE A PARTICULAR VIEW I NEED TO BE IN TO LOAD THEM?  I AM CURRENTLY IN A BUILDING SECTION VIEW AND I AM NEEDING TO LOAD-LEVEL MARK- BUBBLE TO NOTATE THE T.O. STEEL. AND THE B.O. STEEL PARTICULAR TO THIS SECTION-  ANYONE HAVE ANY COMMENTS??
