Is it possible to make a dummy callout on a plan view that you can input your own detail number & sheet number on? For instance if I imported a detail from CAD & wanted to call it out on the floor plan. Could I add a detail callout & edit it or can you add one as a detail component or would I just have to draw one up w/ detail lines or something?

Also, is it possible to have a detail callout show up in multiple places on a floor plan for the same detail?

Thank you to anyone that takes the time to respond!

Import your CAD detail into a new Drafting View. When you pick Section, Elevation or Callout look at the Options bar. Check the reference other view and pick the name of your Drafting View. This way it is a true reference (i.e., it updates the sheet and detail number as you place it or move it. You can do this as many times on a sheet as you want so that you have multiple tags referencing the same detail/view. No need for the dummy tags for that.

Hello, not sure if this helps.

We have a different situation where we need to reference views from another linked Revit model.

In the process, we created a Dummy Callout Boundary and Dummy Tag to suffice.

Link to screencast provided.
