I know how to create line types in cad (so that you can do a -x-, etc.) Can you create custom line types in Revit?

Go to Settings, Line styles... , open lines, create new -give it a name, subcategory of lines, set the line weight, color and pattern

- Click Settings menuLine Patterns.
- In the Line Patterns dialog, select the line pattern you wish to modify, and click Edit.
- Make any necessary changes.
- Click OK.

All I see is the dot, dash, and spaceing options. What about adding text and the like?

ditto on all of NKramer's comments... I need a fence line, and even linking in a DWG as a background, the --x-- won't display when it's pulled through Revit Architecture 2008. Any patches, workarounds or updates expected in v2009 for this? -r

You can use repeating details if you want to make an - x - kind of lines. Best Regards, Arthur Gunawan

I think that he means useing an arrayed family. IE create a new generic annotation family. Draw the linework, symbology that you want, array them to the end point (reference plane to reference plane), and then set your rules for number of items arrayed (Width/2 or something along those lines). Nick

Hey guys, have a look at this, and see if its what you need. It was created in RAC2009. If its to your liking, ill explain later how to add boxes and the like.
