I am working on a renovation of an existing building. I have modeled the existing conditions and have begun to add new elements. The phase of my plan view is now listed as "new construction". All of the existing elements have greyed out which is exactly what I would want.
The problem is that, revit has converted all of my lines into a solid line type and I can not seem to change that. I have several arched openings which should be drawn as overhead dashed lines. Unfortunately, it is solid and I can not change it. Can anyone suggest a way to take control of these line types?

Don't phase the lines... Draw them in the new construction phase and just set the line type to be grey for instance...

Ok, I won't phase my existing lines, but I still want to separate my existing walls from my new walls. How do I change the color of certain walls, but not others in a single view?

Mr. Spot,
I just discovered the "Linework" command. If I am understanding it correctly, I am able to choose specific lines in a view and assign a new line type to it.
This seems to allow me to keep my existing walls as existing instead of moving them to new construction. Once they have become grey solid lines in my new construction view, I can just go in and manually choose certain lines to turn into grey dashed lines.
Do you see any problems in doing this?

Klackey, that is exactly the way you should do it. You don't want to get rid of your phasing for more reasons than just this issue. Phasing allows you to have current and correct information in all of your views, (plans, sections, elevations)
