I am working on a converting an AutoCAD detail into a Revit family detail component. For some reason I cannot place a leader with my text in the detail. Why is this? Is it not possible to have text with leaders in detail components? Using version 9.1.

I inserted my detail component into my model and the text and dimensions don't show up. Does anybody know if it is possible to put dimensions and text into a detail component?

You are really not talking about a detail component. Detail components are really only objects. I think what you may be trying to make is a "group" of 2d elements that you can insert into a project. You can either group the detail items, text with leaders, dimensions and save them as a group or create a 2d drafting view with these elements in the view and save the view. When you do the later, you can insert them in any view using the "insert from file" 2d elements. For most detail elements, I would use the later method because the items remain as individual elements which can then be moved / tweaked for the view I'm working in.
