I keep getting an error message when trying to create a network deployment for service pack 3 of Revit Architecture Suite 2008. It tells me that I cancelled the installation, even though I have no other applications running and I haven't touched the computer while it's running. The log file gives me the error Finalize failed! before the log ends. What is it that I'm doing wrong? Thanks! -Mindy

Me Too!! I have noticed that the Deployment and Content folders which I had specified (and already created) are actually gone when the setup fails.. scary to think an installer is deleting folders from my network!!!! Can anyone report a successful deployment creation with Revit Architecture 2008 SP3 ?? If it helps the error log details are: (pc and user identities have been changed to protect the innocent) 2007/11/30:10:44:21 USERNAME COMPUTERNAME === Setup started on COMPUTERNAME by USERNAME ===2007/11/30:10:48:25 USERNAME COMPUTERNAME Deployment CopyMedia succeeded! 2007/11/30:10:48:30 USERNAME COMPUTERNAME Deployment GenerateTransform succeeded! 2007/11/30:10:48:30 USERNAME COMPUTERNAME Deployment CreateDeploymentConfigFile succeeded! 2007/11/30:10:48:30 USERNAME COMPUTERNAME Deployment CreateAdminImage succeeded! 2007/11/30:10:48:31 USERNAME COMPUTERNAME Deployment ApplyPatch succeeded! 2007/11/30:10:48:31 USERNAME COMPUTERNAME Deployment CreateShortcut succeeded! 2007/11/30:10:48:31 USERNAME COMPUTERNAME Deployment CreateShortcut succeeded! 2007/11/30:10:48:31 USERNAME COMPUTERNAME Deployment Finalize failed! 2007/11/30:10:48:35 USERNAME COMPUTERNAME === Setup ended ===

I've contacted my Revit Supplier and they have in turn contacted AutoDesk. There are a lot of people with this problem and thay are working on it. I'll post the fix once I hear back. -Mindy

Autodesk sent the solution... Got to this link http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=200B2FD9-AE1A-4A14-984D-389C36F85647&displaylang=en and run the program. Then try to create the deployment as usual. It worked for me.
