I have created my architectural model in revit. Now I would like to import ductwork and HVAC equipment into my model. All of the ductwork has been created already in AutoCAD MEP 2008, however, I am having trouble with transferring everything into Revit so I can view it in my model. Once imported into Revit, I seem to lose all of the ductwork transitions and instances where a duct would change direction, for example. Some of the ductwork runs lose shape for instance; a long duct that was 12" x 12" now shows up almost like a wall going all the way down 1 level, so it shows up as 12" x 120" or whatever. Also, some duct runs lose their 3d properties all together and show up as flat plane objects. I am totally confused as to why it looks perfect in ACAD MEP, but is so messed up after the transfer. I have tried changing proxygraphics to 1 before exporting, saving as all different file types and no luck. The only one that seems to retain all the correct information is a .dwf file, however, that file cannot be imported into Revit as far as I know. Can anyone point me to a training guide for this sort of thing? Has anyone successfully imported objects created in AutoCAD MEP 2008 into Revit Architecture 2008? And if so please pass on any suggestions or tips. Thanks.

I found this link about my problem above, only thing is it is for Revit Structural, not Architectural. I am assuming it would still apply. I am going to continue playing around with this, in the mean time, if anyone sees this feel free to add any tips. http://images.autodesk.com/adsk/files/effective_collaboration_using_revit_structure_and_autocad_mep.pdf
