Hello, I followed the tutorial link: http://www.revitcity.com/tutorials/arrays_and_nested/ in order to build a lumber framed wall. For the moment, I'm only able to realize a parametric family that draws basicly this kind of wall, but I'd like to use this family as a "Wall" object that could be modified with doors and windows, rather than just calling this lumber wall by loading it form family and doing anything else than drawing a plain wall. Does this seems possible? SF

I'm not sure if i follow? Do you wish to create a family for a timber framing system whereby you can define the spacing of studs, locations of noggings, top plate, bottom plate etc? This is possible but personally i'd just used the structural tools and create framing elevations. Then have it be a wall and behave as such? This is not possible, you can load a family in and nest it in an in-place family wall category to clcurseit as a wall, but you will not be able to simply place windows and doors in it... I would suggest using the simple walls in revit and then adding framing after if need be... I assume this is for a small project as it would be unmanageable on a large building...?

Exactly. To create a family for a timber framing system to define the spacing of studs, locations of noggings, top plate, bottom plate... I'm usually buiding this type of walls. I like my drawings to be as detailed as possible. That's why i'm looking for an automated way to do so. I hoped I found the application that make it happens. :-( Could Revit be customised on a programming level (Like VBA)?
