VISA LIGHTING CATALOG NOW AVAILABLE IN BIM FILES

Visa Lighting converted their product line into Building Information Management files. BIM is a method for using parametric and associative 3D models to manage the development of new construction and remodel within a virtual environment. Model structuring reduces the variability of cost and construction time. Inclusive of the 3D model is important Meta-data that the software can use to populate any number of build schedules and reports relating to the project at hand. This includes energy management, photometrics, LEED, and so on. From a design perspective, the software can also assist in rendering and creating virtual walk-throughs. BIM removes the barriers between design and collaboration; projects proceed smoothly as errors are reduced or eliminated, less waste of resources and time result in improved, superior projects of superior quality. “End users will save time because they do not have to input information or create the 3D models themselves. The Visa Lighting BIM files also aid in the validation of LEED and other sustainability metrics,” states Jimalee Dakin, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Visa Lighting. “We have supplemented the files with lighting calculations, lamp information, and fixture spec details.” Visa Lighting BIM files in Revit® format are available for download on the Visa Lighting website,

www.visalighting.com.

By obtaining the Visa Library directly from the manufacturer, the user is assured the files are clean and chance of error is reduced. “We are part of the design community,” Jimalee continues. “It is our job to support our specifiers and enable them to use the best tools on the market with our products. BIM promises to improve project quality by fewer job errors from miscommunication, provide value to the owner by reducing the construction time and overall cost, these are our values as well.” Celebrating over 25 years of Innovation and Service Visa Lighting, an Oldenburg Company is located in Milwaukee Wisconsin. If you would like more information about this topic, or if you would like to schedule an interview, please call Georgia Jackson @ 414-410-3382 or email Georgia at gjackson@visalighting.com

Update to Visa Lighting BIM program...

It has been brought to Visa Lighting’s attention that certain Revit workflows require face based files.  These will be available as a complete download in the near future.  Until then, you are encouraged to request specific model numbers by contacting BIM@visalighting.com .  We understand your need and will respond as soon as possible.
