Whenever I go to browse for a file in Revit (also in Autocad) and the browse window opens, the files are not listed in alphabetical or numerical order. This happens with opening new files or even loading from libraries. Once the browser window is open I can right click in the white space and choose the sort by name function which it does but once the browser window is closed and reopened it reverts to the previous setting which I think is sorting by date. My setting on Windows Explorer is set to sort by name as a default. This problem only occurs in Revit and Autocad. Whenever I browse in other programs such as Word or Excel the sorting is always by name as it should be. Can anyone help me with this problem. I've tried Revit support twice but they've given up. My computer is the only one in our office that does this. HELP! I've attached a screenshot of one of my open browse windows.

Bizarre and i'd imagine very annoying... The only thing i could think of trying would be to grab the revit.ini file off someone elses computer and overwrite your own. Make sure to make a backup of your existing one somewhere. Then when revit loads be sure to change the username back to you and not the other person... Worth a try?
