Does anyone know if I can turn off room names while leaving on the numbers? Our office standard is to have as little text within the drawing as possible, so we use room legends for clarity. I know I can simply delete the room name, but then I won't have it in the legend, either.
Thoughts? Thanks!

Create a new room tag that just incorporates the number. Load into the project, right click on one of the existing roof tags and choose, select all instances, then change them in the properties to the number only version.

I believe there is a new room tag that comes with Revit 7 which allows you to turn on and off the room name, number & area. I could be wrong. Nevertheless, if there isn't, you could create one by opening up your room tag, doing a save as and applying visibility parameters to your tag labels.

Thanks so much for your help, guys. I ended up making a new annotation type with just the number. When I made a room legend, the names were still there somehow - lucky me!
(I'm using 6.1, but this seems like yet another reason to get 7 -the curtain walls are a BEAR in 6.1!)
Thanks again,
Jen

You're right Hiroshi, the stock tags with 7.0 use visibility parameters to allow you to turn on and off the values.

For a curious new Revit user like myself, how would one apply visiblity parameters to the elements of an annotation family? (And is this possible in 6.1)

I don't think this is possible in Revit 6.1, I can't believe I missed it if it was...
basically, at least in 7, all solids & labels have a yes/no parameter that controls visibility applied to them by default when created. The trick is you have to connect that individual solid or label visiblity parameter to a family parameter. This allows the family parameter to control the visibility of all items tied to it.
