Can anyone please tell me how to place REVIT 2D plants into a Plant Schedule ? Thanks

Are the 2D plant symbols detail components? If so you will not be able to get a count of them... If you want to schedule them and get a count then you'll need to use a 3D family category - the content of the family can still be 2D only. Most likely "Planting" category. Then just go to View-->New-->Schedule-->Planting HTH.
