I've got a thick brick wall that has narrow slots about 200mm wide & 1800mm high with a diagonal profile in plan. The idea being that people at right angles to the wall cant see in. Whenever I try to create an opening Revit makes the edges of the opening at right angles to the wall. How do I create these diagonal edges to the opening. I can do it with masses but when I convert the mass to a wall it reverts back to perpendicular opening edges. Thanks.

in-place voids and cut geometry might be one option to try HTH

Thanks Coreed, but no luck so far. I can't get any wall opening do do anything other than be perpendicular to the wall face. I'm new to Revit so any suggestions appreciated. Regards, Evan.

Draw your wall, go to a plan view. Click CREATE, choose WALLS and then OK. Give it whatever name you want. Choose VOID FORM, the VOID EXTRUSION. Set the properties (Start and End Height). Using lines, draw the void you want. Click FINISH SKETCH. Click the CUT GEOMETRY icon on the toolbar. Select the wall first, then the void. Click FINISH FAMILY. Note that you will have to use the PAINT command to "paint" the inside of the cut with brick. I am pretty sure that is what you are looking for-I attached a pic of what I did. Let me know if you have any problems. Cheers.

Thanks Lizard, that is what I was after. I'm still getting used to Revit. We have just converted from Architectural Desktop and it is a bit of a learning curve. Evan.
