I cannot for the life of me get room tags to appear in an enlarged restroom view. All of the visibility settings appear to be on, but when I try to place a room tag in the enlarged plan, revit gives me the message "None of the created elements are visible in Detail View: RESTROOMS View. You may want to check the active view, its Parameters, and Visibility settings." Please help.

I assume you are using 2008... try turning off the annotation crop region as it maybe causing some abnormality in your view. Alternatively use the "Reveal Hidden Elements" to ensure they are not hidden in the view. HTH.

Indeed I am using 2008, sorry I forgot to mention it. I turned off the annotation crop, and tried placing a room tag into the view, and still no dice. Any other ideas? Thanks for the help.

Didn't notice this the first time I looked at your post... Detail Views have a few special characteristics where items are off by default and I don't believe you can turn them back on... Recreate your callout using the "floor plan" in the type selector instead of the detail view. HTH.

Nope - you have to recreate them.

I am having the same problem using RAC 2008. I create a callout on my floor play to create an enlarged view. Floor plan, not detail view, is selected but still no room tags show up. I unchecked crop annotations and they are not hidden. Any ideas?

I have Rooms (under Model Catefories) turned on will all sub-elements turned on (Color fill, interior fill, reference) and Room Tags turned on under Annotation categories but I still cannot see the tags in a callout floor plan. Any ideas?

I should note that the rooms are still there and I just have to re-insert the actual room tag back into the floor plan. Not a major task but one that I don't really feel like doing because revit should display them automatically.

Room tags are annotations - not model elements. Therefore, unless you copy a view with details, the annotations will not be there. Likewise, no callouts will contain annotation elements either ...until you place the. This is very easy to do in REVIT. Window you base view & filter it for the annotation elements you want to copy and copy / paste them same place.
