I am trying to modify a default countertop to contain three openings. I can get the outside two openings to be constrained to a constant distance from the sides, but I cannot constrain the middle opening. I want it to always stay in the middle. I've tried formulas, setting the distance from each end as equal, setting the distance from the opening centerlines as equal, etc. Commonly I get errors saying that adding a constraint would overconstrain the family. I'm sure this is something relatively simple I'm missing. Any ideas? and thanks!

I have found constrainign things to reference planes instead of each other produces less errors. In your countertop situation, you would add a reference plane to represent the centerline. Constrain that to be centered on the length of countertop, then contrain the holes to be constrained to that line (either on it or x inches to either side). I think that might work for you.

AHHH!!! I think that may have been part of my problem. I wasn't constraining the reference plane correctly. Let me look into that a little more. What you say is making sense, so let's see if I can make it work. Thanks!

Lizard2806, Thanks for the help. That was the problem. I had the reference lines set to be relative to each other. Don't know why that didn't work, but when I set them to be relative to the reference lines for the ends of the cabinet, it fixed the problem. The only additional oddity I had was the symbolic circle for the cutout in plan view wouldn't move, but I deleted it and redrew it and problem solved. I think I'll try it out a little more and upload it here in case someone else wants to use it too.
