I have a bunch of text I want to cut and paste in 2008 and when I paste it in it looks fine until I click out side the text box and then the formatting goes all hay wire.......The text is from word and has lots of number, indents etc

The text editor in Revit is poor at best, and doesn't like indents and bulleted lists. It also has a tendency to change the word wrapping depending on your zoom level, which has got to be one of the oddest and most frustrating bugs I have ever seen. So, short answer is cut and paste, but expect to do some manual formating.
