I am using Revit Stucture 2008. Never really noticed it before, with square or retalinear buildings, but now working on a performing arts building with a bunch of masonry walls, some radial walls and many others on mulitple different angles. I did my framing plan and all my beam tags automatically aligned with the beams, no matter what angle they were on and looked fine on curved beams too. But now working on the foundation plan, I am tagging walls and footings and my only choice is horizontal or vertical tags, they wont align with the walls. I put in a support request telling them what I just said and they came back with basically "that is the way it is", and as a work around, try creating another tag with the text rotated to what you need and then have multiple tags in your drawing... Just an initial quick count, I would need about 40 different wall tags to make this look the way I want it too, and then another 40 foundation tags too... this is insane, anybody else have a better idea?? Our tags our boxed and then stacked so a typical wall tag would appear to be a square with a line in the middle and then a MW-1 in the upper half and a WF-1 in the lower half. The plan gets really hard to read when the tag is not aligned with the wall, it is not immediately obvious what wall is being tagged. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Well I got another response from Autodesk, saying actually there is a way to get them to align... so any of you having this same problem, here you go... "Select the wall tag and choose to Edit the family. Once inside the family, go to Settings > Family Categories and Parameters. Check the box for Rotate with component."
