Last Friday I was working on a Mechanical Plan in Revit MEP, and about 3/4 of the way through a whole section of my ductwork changed to a single lineish sort of drawing. It only occured with one air system, and even then only about half of the system changed. I checked all my mechanical setting and element settings, my detail level is Fine, and all duct work affected appears as single lines in 3D views/section views as well. I've attached an image of the Ductwork. So far everything I've tried has not worked, I'm going to attempt redoing the whole system to see if it fixes the problem, however I worry about it occuring again in the future on a much larger system and losing many days worth of work on it. Has anyone else had this Issue before or other major difficulties with Mechanical work in Revit? Thanks a bunch, Alex

ive never had that problem, but if i had to guess in the visibility/ graphics overrides, look at where it says ducts under model categories. it could be that the detail level is set to coarse when it should be by view or fine. the problem i keep having is that when i switch to hidden line, some of the ductwork and diffusers dissapear, but look fine in wireframe.

Thanks for the reply Eddie, I've already chekc to make sure all my view settings are accurate on both the view, as wellas the individual elements. I've also tried it in wireframe and the other view settings. Still no go. It seems strange to me that only part of the duct system went to single line and not all of the ductwork. Any other suggestions? ~Alex

sorry about the tardy response, im designing a lab right now in Rmep, and it has been nothing but slow going (I blew these guys away when i showed them the proposed model with all their specialty equipment in it). i can tell you have applied the view template, you may want to try and apply it again. the other thing i would suggest is it may be a problem with your mechanical settings, like under hidden line, it may also be a problem with your duct size look up table. another possiblility and one no one likes to accept is that the file could have become corrupt some how. after this i am fresh out of ideas, i would probably try and copy it into a new blank template and see if that fixes it. hope some of that helps.

Thanks a bunch for the suggestions Eddie, I went through and just deleted the whole duct system today and redid it. It did not repeat the problem so I am just going to cross my fingers that I won't see this issue again on a larger scale project. ~Alex

Haha, one of the engineers here suggested we both go, he'd party, and I'd just take his ID and go to the conference.
