I'm using Revit 9.1.  We are trying to create a company default template with line weights etc.  But when we use the line wight tool.  The only options we have are the 'thin lines' 'wide lines' 'hidden' etc.  Is there a way to change those to specific user set line weights?

what you are referring to Cryingthin line, wide lines etc.) are Line Styles, not Line Weights. you can create you own Line Style by going to Settings==>Line Styles on the Pull-Down menu. You can the apply anyone of 16 Line Weights to your own Line Style.

Ok makes sense.  But isn't there a way to use line weights also for different scales?

How do I set those up and how do I then use them?

You really need to start with the fundamentals.  Please go through your tutorials and learn to use your help menu.  REVIT's help really works ... unlike AutoCAD.

One of the great things about REVIT is that You don't need to do what you want to do.   REVIT assigns line weights for different view scales based on a chart (which you can modify).  You establish the relationship once ... thin vs medium vs thick ... and REVIT will adjust the linewights according to the view scale.  To see your settings, just look under settings  - lineweighs!
