Is it possible to circle parts of the Revit model and add highlighted text notes- specifically for the office staff. Currently, we do this in CAD using a non-printable color during the CD phase as problems, or questions arise. I see in Revit that you cannot filter text? Is there a way to make text and detail lines non-printable? Or, is there a Revit way to include notes that will not print and can be easily removed before CA? Thanks

Create a View called "first floor Note" and add all text and stuff to that view. Annotation is view dependant and will not show up on the other views. If you are talking about redlining on Revit you can try the DWF tool. Works good. I have found that if you have time to redline in Revit you have time to just make the change.

I don't think the duplicate views would be workable in a large office- too confusing. What about defining a workset just for inner office mark-ups and notes? I think Revit should really consider dumping the filter tool and incorporating layers- layers are more versitile and its something that everyone understands.

Worksets will work.. Typically in Large offices the template has the views set up. 1st Floor Presintation, 1st Floor Design, 1st Floor Export, 1st Floor Import, 1st Floor Notes, and on and on for other floors. This issue with worksets is that you have to be in worksets to get the note tool. Most of the time I save worksets for CD's.

I have used what Robin's is suggesting in the past and it works pretty well. We are a large office doing large projects and haven't had a problem with one extra view per associable level. Just like people have to understand not to just sit and work in a "sheet" view, they go to the note view to jot done issues. And, modelling fixes can be made from this "note" view and delete the notes as you go...the only issue is notes about annotating don't make sense this way, but it's a matter being a little more descriptive...."Does the note about sealant that points here need to be changed to...?" PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE NO LAYERS IN REVIT!!!
