I am working on trying to place a cable tray in Revit MEP and have had no luck so far. Any ideas for a work around? I have tried the Massing tools but I am still working on getting those to display properly. Thanks for any ideas. James

I posted a cable tray family that I found. It is in the download section under low voltage electrical distribution. It seem to work pretty good though I have not put it to use just yet. Let me know how it works for you and if there are any other querks you find to make it easier to use.

Thanks for the help. We were able to use those files to create a solid bottom cable tray. Thanks again.

supercadder the cable tray families work great...exactly what I was trying to accomplish. (Adjust the length and have the rungs automatically added with the ability to adjust the width, height and rung spacing) Do you wave a cross and 90 elbow as well? Thanks!

I know that this in revit forum, but still I want to share cable tray blocks which are created in AutoCAD. We searched a lot for getting real life cable trays which we can use in our modeling project. We were able to find some 2d dynamic blocks Cable tray, Revit families with some limited functionality. Also we tried to create cable tray in AutoCAD MEP, but we gave up after some time. Lastly we tried to do this by using AutoCAD 3d objects & then giving it dynamic properties. To our surprise we were able to do this & found that by doing some twicks we can add dynamic blocks properties to 3d objects too. We are very pleased to share this with Augi community. Do place your feedback about this
