Hi Everyone, I am Karen Maxon, in northern Vermont. I have been working in the architectural community here for almost 20 years. I work freelance now, doing mainly AutoCAD work for several firms. I tried out Revit a couple of years ago on a subscription basis and liked it. At the time, it didn't fit in with what I was doing, so I let it lapse. But it was always playing around the edges of my mind, and I knew I would pick it up again sometime. Well, that time has arrived. I'm expanding my services, and the Revit Series fits the bill perfectly. I received my new Revit package on Christmas Eve - what a great present to myself! So now I'm refreshing my memories, and learning the new stuff. I would especially like to hear from Revit-experienced users about rendering. I want to learn more about placing rendered Revit models into digital photographs. I'd also like to hear people's opinions on Adobe PhotoShop or other rendering "finishing" methods. Thanks for any input you can lend...

It's nice to meet you Karen! I'm glad you decided to switch to Revit. I'm sure you'll find that it will save you a lot of time and energy! I have found photoshop to be an excellent tool for finishing up renderings. Much like other 3d rendering programs, you can also import context photos into Revit to use as a background in place of the standard "blue sky & clouds" If you have any questions/comments about anything regarding Revit, don't hesitate to speak up!

Thanks for the warm welcome Hiroshi. I've been long in replying because I've been working on my first Revit project - big learning curve! I'll upload some files when I'm up to speed. I'm so impressed with this site - I've used it many times over the course of my first project. A great resource - thank you so much for all your hard work, and your brother's too! Best regards, Karen
