Does anyone know how to change the material applied when you apply a floor area face to a mass using the "Floor Area Faces" button in the option bar? Under Settings>Materials, you can duplicate and change the "Default Floor Area Face" material, so I would think there would be a way to apply a new floor area face material. But I cannot find where one would do this! I am building a conceptual, transparent massing model where it is helpful to see the different levels, and I would like the floor area faces to be different colors to correspond to my different types of masses. I am using Revit Architecture 2008. Any help is appreciated!

Hi, I solved the problem using a mass family: create the family of your concept with volumes etc. in mass family; add a material parameter (instance) and assign it to each volume in your family, save it and upload it in the project. Duplicate the mass material you want and assign to each volume separatly the material you need. Or if you prefer use the paint bucket and pick all the sufrfaces of your concept mass. Hope this help you a little bit. -Paolo
