Hi I'm trying to insert a window into a wall at an angle. I believe when you do this the window cuts into the wall but the window stays vertical and does not allign with the angle of the wall... To get around this I have been told to create a void inside a Generic Face Based Template and then load in a louvre template and add frame ect... Once i have done this and loaded into a project it allows me to cut into a basic vertical wall, which i cannot rotate... So I then created a wall family mass and rotated it to suit but when i inserted the window it did not cut into the wall, it more or less sat on the face of it.. Can someone please help.... Thanks

Your problem may be as simple as unchecking a box in your family. Try unchecking the "always vertical" box in the family under settings - family categories and parameters.

Do you have any nested families in this that may still have the always vertical checked?

Autodesk said it was't possilbe. Here is their solution: Thank you for contacting Autodesk Support. Here is the recommended resolution to your Support Request: This is as a wish list with the development. Currently, if a window is placed in a wall that is non-vertical, the window will remain vertical. But as a workaround•You place a family built from the generic model - roof hosted template, the window will be tangential to the point of insertion•You can use curtain wall tools to place a small curtain wall that resembles a window family. •You could also create the window with the Generic Model family template. Then go to Settings > Family Categories and Parameters and change the type from Generic Model to Window, and check the box for Work Plane Based (uncheck the others). Then you should be able to add the window based on the face of a wall opening.
