Hey guys, I've got an issue. Does anyone know how to Hide the sweeps that are attached to a wall type in plan view. The sweeps help with the section and the elevations, but serve no use but confusion in the plan. I've tried using Plan Region, but this does not work without as it revolves other parts of the model I would like to keep in the view. I have looked through object styles and Visibility/ Graphic Overrides and cannot turn the sweeps off in plan. There is also no functionality to adjust the visibility of these sweeps when creating them.Has anyone been faced with this issue before.... it's giving me the shits! Thanks guys and gals Scotty V

I know what you mean. I about when nuts fighting with this. I finally came to the conclusion that I would limit my use of integrated wall sweeps to only those items that would need to show in plan (i.e. Sill Caps, Parapet Caps). I now use the Hosted sweep tool for all items that I need to control visibility with. This can be a little time consuming but it gets the job done. If the sweep is above the cut plane it shouldn't show up. You can use the Linework tool and turn the sweep lines invisible. This is time consuming too but it works.

I am running into the same issue. What I do is hide the elements in view. This way I can just right click and select all instances and hide in view. But I have to do this everytime I add another wall sweep. So I have to remember to go back to all my plans and turn them off. Does anyone have any solutions to KEEP this category off in plans? Thanks, Lorne

I control my Hosted Sweeps by adding a subcategory under Walls and assigning that category to my sweep types. I then can turn all of a certain type of sweep off for each plan. This can be set up in view templates so I can reuse the settings. I will also update my project templates to reflect this same thing.

Hello. Working in 2010 and have run into this problem. I created a new subcategory under walls but not sure how to assign the category to the sweeps. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Raina Mc

You should be able to find the subcategory in the properties of the sweep profile

Thank you but I think I am doing something incorrectly. This is the process I am going through: Project Browser-Families-Profiles-right click on profile- this brings up a type properties box and there is no option to assign a subcategory to sweep profile. Can you tell me where I might be going wrong?

I was mistaken. You have to asign the category in the properties of the hosted wall sweep type. Go into wall sweep and look in the TYPE properties for subcategory.

I don't have Revit 2010 so I am not sure if there is something different in it. I was able to do this in Revit 2009.

Unless the sweep is part of the wall, you can pick one ans then right click and select all instances and hide in view.

If it is part of the wall it is not a Hosted Wall sweep. I have not found a way to turn Integrated sweeps off.
