My firm is looking at implimenting Revit, however most of our buildings are precast panels and I am struggling with a way to keep a wall as a whole but include the panel joints. Also the panel joints can't have any actual width to them (simply appear as a line) any advice?

Not exactly sure what you're thinking. But if all you need is a wall that shows panel joints, you can just use a surface hatch pattern. I quickly made a basic wall that you can take a look at... Using the align command you can lineup the joints however you want. The hatch pattern, if you use a model hatch, allows you to make whatever size panel you want. If you need a more custom, abstract, non-parallel joint pattern, I'm not sure how to do it, but you can always just use model lines on a basic concrete wall If you want those panel joints to have depth and show shadow lines or something it's a little different, but I'm sure doable.

I think I understand what you did, however the panels need to be dimensioned in plan....I need vertical panel joints in both plan and elevation. I think it is possible if I do a curtain wall system and just layout a vertical grid pattern, I was just wondering if something like this is possible in a basic wall.

hmmm, I suppose you could make a curtain wall system like you said. It's interesting that with the method I tried you can dimension the panels in elevation, but not plan. I suppose you could use reference planes or something to get them dimensioned in plan. I don't know what will be more work. I am, by no account, an expert with Revit. I'm interested in how this can be done, as I'll probably at some point need to be able to make rain screen walls with panels or planks and will want to show the gaps and dimension them as well.
